Praying for your Future Husband by Robin Gunn and Tricia Goyer

Have you ever thought about praying for your future husband?
Will it make a difference?
There's only one way to find out…

From when we were small girls, most of us dream of “The One,” our future husband. We think about what it would be like to be a bride. We wonder who that special guy is and when we'll find him. The great news is that what you do now can make a difference in your life and the life of your future husband!

Authors and good friends Robin Jones Gunn (Christy Miller series) and Tricia Goyer (author and former teen mom) believe God answers women's prayers for husbands—even husbands they may not meet for years. They invite young women to pray boldly for their future mate … while also asking God to prepare their own hearts.

In Praying for Your Future Husband, Robin and Tricia share their two vastly different experiences, including the things they did right and the mistakes they made on the path to meeting and marrying their husbands. Each chapter includes helpful Bible verses, prayers, and practical application, along with true stories of women who prayed for a husband and how God answered in remarkable ways.

God has a beautiful romance prepared for you. Prayer is the key to unlocking the love story … with your future husband and with God, the lover of your soul.

The Review
My Ranking: 10 out of 10
Ages 15 & up

I have always loved reading books and blog posts that encourage girls to keep their hearts intact and whole for their husbands instead of giving it to whatever cute guy walks into their lives, so I was eager to pick up this book and see what truth and inspiration lied within it's pages. While I have been praying for my unknown future husband for a while now, I was excited to receive this book and read it, knowing to expect a great, insightful book. I was not disappointed in the least! Two of my closest friends who share my beliefs on courting and all matters husbandly also read this book before me and absolutely loved it, so I knew I was diving into a great book!

Robin and Tricia's straight forward, often humorous writing style made this book a real pleasure to read. Their retelling of past experiences were great - though often sobering - to read, and definitely added to the book. I loved reading all of the different stories of girls who had prayed for their husbands in their teens and adult years, and their amazing results. It was awesome, and SO encouraging!

The content was admirably slim in this book. The only thing was that there is a bit of talk about saving your body for your husband until marriage and not indulging in pleasures beforehand. Tricia tells her story and she becomes pregnant twice before 17 - once having an abortion and after that keeping the child. There is also one chapter that talks briefly and vaguely about sexuality, and how important it is to be saved for marriage, and how it is an unashamed thing for those under the bond of marriage. I was not uncomfortable with it, but it may be best to skip this chapter for younger teens.

Overall, this was an absolutely AWESOME book for teen and adult, single woman alike! Robin and Tricia have written a winner here and I definitely will be keeping this one and picking it up often. I HIGHLY recommend this to all single women out there! :)

I received this free book in return for an honest review from Waterbrook Multnomah publishing group. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.
